    Today you can join the club and sail electric for a weekend or weeklong charter with full instruction on electric propulsion sailing.  Or choose to get certification to bareboat an Electric Catamaran.

The Gemini 105 is a 34’ catamaran located near Clearwater and it is great for a few days to a week.

  In cooperation with Halls Diving center in Marathon the America Sailing Club is offering diving certifications.  You will have on-line, pool, and open water experiences then have the opportunity to both sail and dive as a club member on the GeniGreen Electric Catamaran.  Ask about details.

Club Rules Please Read Carefully

  1. 1.These rules and policies apply to all types of members.

  2. 2.Group events on a club sailboat are considered as club sailing days or charter of all members participating. All members must conform to Club rules and policies during these events.

  3. 3.SAILING PERIODS AND CHECK IN PROCEDURE:

  4. Periods are:

  5. Daily is morning till evening

  6. Overnight is higher rate or weekend rate

  7. Holidays are billed at weekend rates.

  8.     Check-in calls must be made within two hours after scheduled return.

  9.     IF YOU FAIL TO CHECK IN YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR AN EXTRA PERIOD.

  10.     You may call 1-888-976-5884 from any pay phone, no coin necessary.

  11. 4.OTHER CHARGES: The following charges are added to each charter:.

  12. A. 10% service charge will be added to each charter made outside the club fleet sailboats to non ASC sailboats it also includes services for travel and accommodations.

  13. B. Applicable sales tax will be added to each sailing days or charter.

  14. C. $25 per 24 hours of use or fraction thereof will be added to each charter to reduce the members insurance damage deductible to $300 per incident. (See #11 for a complete explanation.)

  15. 5.FUEL: Fuel is included in daily rates. Fuel used is charged on weekly rates, just bring it back as full as possible please be careful not to overflow.

  16. 6.EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES: Each boat is equipped differently. We will try to illustrate and write about as many features as we can. Feel free to inquire or even add something based on your needs when charting etc.

  17. A. Boats are equipped with 6 adult life vests. Please bring one for each additional person

  18. and all Children.

  19. B. The boat will have an adequate fuel supply when you board.

  20. C. Always fill the water tanks if you plan to use water. Do not let tanks run dry while pump is on.  Pumps can burn up when dry.

  21. D. Cooking and dining supplies and equipment vary so call or email the office for information.

  22. 7.CANCELLATIONS: 50% of the charter fee or points will be charged for cancellations less than two weeks from charter period. Considering the exceptions below;

  23. A. MULTIPLE DAY PERIODS -- Reservations must be cancelled 45 days prior to sail.

  24. B. SPECIAL MULTIPLE DAY GROUP SAILS -- must be cancelled 45 days prior to the date of sail. A deposit will be required to reserve space on these trips.

  25. E. CANCELLATION CHARGES WILL NOT BE ASSESSED:

  26.     (1) If the boat can be rebooked for the cancelled period OR

  27.     (2) for single day reservations; rain, fog, or high wind conditions provided cancellation is made at the dock, at the time of your sail. Rescheduling can always be used on a case-by-case basis.

  28. “NO WIND” CONDITIONS ARE NOT A REASON FOR CANCELLATION.

  29. 8.NO PETS PLEASE!

  30. 9.PLEASE CLEAN THE BOAT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. A cleaning charge of $25 per hour will be charged if the boat is left unclean. If you find the boat unclean from a previous use, and you return the boat clean, mention this on your check-in call and your bill will be reduced by $25. $25 will be added to the charge for the previous user.

  31. 10.NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES ARE PERMITTED ON CLUB BOATS!  Club members are responsible for their conduct and that of their guests. If any law enforcement agency finds illegal substances on a Club boat which results in the seizure of the vessel, the Club member will be responsible for all expenses incurred, including lost income to the boat while not available for charter. In addition, the member will be asked to leave the Club, with no recourse!

  32. 11.DEDUCTIBLE POOL COVERAGE: $25 per 24 hours of use or fraction thereof will be added to each charter to reduce the members insurance damage deductible to $300 per incident. The Club requires no damage deposits. (Commercial charter operations normally require a $1000 to $2000 damage deposit). There are some exceptions to this rule based on specific boats the club will let you know if this applies.

  33. A. The Deductible Pool is in effect for losses except as excluded herein.

  34. B. The Deductible Pool reduces the members liability to $300 per covered loss.

  35. C. The following are considered covered losses per incident:

  36.     1. Repair to boat, hull, engine, rigging or equipment from damage caused by a member or their guests.

  37.     2. Repair to Sail (each sail is considered a separate loss).

  38.     3. Repair to the property of others.-

  39. Liability claims (per claim)

  40. D. The following are not covered by the Deductible Pool.

  41.     1). Dinghy's and dinghy engines are not covered by the Deductible Pool. The member is responsible for the full cost of repair or replacement.

  42.     2). Any loss resulting from fraudulent or illegal use of the boat or its equipment.

  43.     3). Boat owners when using their own boats on non club related activities.

  44.     4). Charters to non club members.

  45.     5). Towing charges resulting from grounding or fouling anchor lines. Towing for mechanical failure is paid by the owner.
